Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.

Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.

The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Key Priorities and Goals

This year we are focusing on continuing to build healthy relationships with the students and their families.

We are doing this because creating and maintaining healthy relationships promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Actions or Strategies

  1.     Continue with Colour House initiatives, positive programs such as Buddies, Moment of Choice, Peer Collaboration, Peer Power, Special Persons Day, Gems of AJ, Family Connection days, and the Character Trait program.
  2.     Acknowledge students’ acts of kindness in all interactions.
  3.     Use common language to continue building relationships among all.
  4.     Access Community and TVDSB resources to support students and families.
  5.     Inform the school community of all the great news through the school messages. “Building School and Home Connection”.
  6.     Continue building relationships with all stakeholders.

Community and Home Connections

  • Ask your child about the different ‘Act of Kindness’ initiatives that are happening at school.
  • Sharing of Building School and Home Connections through our students
  • Continuous check-in with families to support student achievement and well-being.
  • Continue to provide opportunities for families to visit our school and learn about student achievement.
